Do you ever go out for a meal expecting just fine only to be blown away. Hands down the best dinner we have had in Charleston...and weve been to top rated spots. The Red Drum is a hidden gem. Atmosphere, festive. Servers, amazing. Skirt steak, green beans, creamy mashed potatoes, sundried tomato salad dressing, garlic flatbread, flourless chocolate cake, and donuts, OMG..all fantastic.

Ben has it all figured out. His steaks are the best I’ve had in Charleston. Ben recommended the butter paired with the tenderloin. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and melted in my mouth. Everyone we encountered treated like they knew us for years. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Red Drum has just become my favorite Charleston.
THE RUM CAKE DESERT WILL MAKE YOU WHOLE AGAIN!!!

This was my first time doing the Brunch at Red Drum and I recommend reservations as we did. We sat on the patio and enjoyed libations and the wonderful menu items. Our server Lexi was very attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all in attendance.

We were here for the first time for dinner last night and every part of it was enjoyable. The working fireplace added to the already nice atmosphere, our server was professional and attentive and the food was excellent. The menu has very interesting items-and that is meant as a positive. Both my wife and I enjoyed our entrees (house enchilada, skirt steak). The chili cheddar grit dish was amazing! We will certainly be going back soon! Great job-

Great local spot, generous pours in the wine department, all plates were full loaded and massive portions and yet the flavors kept coming! Our server was great, I forgot her name but she did a bang up job. The place was a bit dark lighting design wise but that is my only critique! I highly recommend the pork chop and shashito peppers!

Red Drum is one of our favorite restaurants in Mount Pleasant! Great food, atmosphere, and always great service! The steak is top notch, cocktails were amazing, really everything we've had on menu has been excellent.

A little delayed in writing, but rolled out to The Red Drum at Christmas time. Cold night made the fire place not just an aesthetic feature but also a welcomed source of warmth in the dining room. Service was highly professional and seamless between waitress, expediter, and bus staff. Shrimp appetizer presented well, cooked through but not tough, and flavor was balanced between the shrimp and the batter, without a need to consider using the sauce which would have dominated. Fried chicken tacos, woodfired chicken breast and short ribs ragu all excellent choices - truly a matter of personal preferences. Having previously worked in F&B, including bartending, I'm not a fan of the cusstom cocktails craze, but my wife and son both ordered one - and one was enough, probably would not order again, not bad, just not good enough to order again. One downside of the whole experience is that, as with many restaurants, especially smaller spaces, the more packed they get with people, the louder it gets as the sound rebounds off the walls.... there are simple, lower cost mitigation options to help reduce that effect. Overall, a relaxing evening with great food and family.

Had a terrific dinner at the Red Drum. It has an interesting and varied menu. Everything is scratch made and the dishes we had, although mundane, were delicious! Our server, Katie H., was outstanding. Attentive, but not overly so, accommodating, pleasant, and efficient.
We started with the chips and salsa. This comes with both a red and a green salsa. Both were so good we took whatever we had left home. They were tasty, tangy, and spicy.
I had the wood grilled cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. I asked for it grilled medium well and it was perfect. It comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was as good as the picture looks. My wife had the grilled chicken salad. I didn't have any, but she said it was excellent (and she's very trustworthy). Oh, and I had an Espresso Martini, also delicious. A little pricey at $80 (not including tax and tip), but considering we had an appetizer and a drink along with the quality of the food and the great service, I think worth it.

This is a really nice place to go relax and have some incredible food. We set out on the patio and had an amazing meal. Haven the appetizers were mouthwatering. Our server was hilarious. She was very attentive, and we will be back. By the way, they have great selection of wine.
